About Coastal Custom Homes

Dean Verschuur, owner of Coastal Custom Homes has been developing his carpentry skills since he was a teenager. He grew up on Cortes Island on the family farm which started his interest in building and construction.

In his mid twenties, Dean obtained his Journeyman in Carpentry designation and began his professional career in construction. In 2011 he moved to Saskatchewan to work as a carpenter and was promoted to foreman and then site superintendent.

Vancouver Island was always the place he wanted to live and raise his family. He moved back to the Comox Valley in 2015 to pursue his passion of building custom homes, specializing in custom timber frame designs.

Design Services – Coastal Custom Homes offers professional design services with each custom home they build. Tiffany Verschuur, Dean’s wife is a valuable part of the team, providing professional design services for new custom homes or to assist with renovation and remodelling projects. She also brings with her five years experience as a successful realtor and uses her expertise and knowledge to assist clients in designing their new home to suit their lifestyle.
